ARTIST It was a typically dreary night in London. The scene was a rave in an abandoned theatre near Victoria Station. SuperSobreSaturado– a squatter who, prior to that fateful night, had never strayed far from conventional rock– felt overwhelmed by the massive sounds of techno, drum and bass, and breaks on display. The hot spark of epiphany compelled him to dedicate his life to electronic music.
PRODUCER One week after his raver-awakening and back in his hometown of Pamplona, SuperSobreSaturado and brother Fat Cat formed Think, a techno-rock band in which he sang and played guitar. The group worked hard and went on to play gigs and festivals to great critical and public acclaim in every provincial capital of Spain. Having learned the ropes of the business, the brothers got involved in promotion, bringing to Pamplona international superstars like Sven Vath and Angel Molina. Soon he got his first synth (a Nord modular) and began producing in earnest, working alongside artists like Raul Cremona for Nervous Records or remixing metal and punk bands like Koma.
DJ After all the time spent sequestered in the studio, SuperSobreSaturado felt the need to get back on stage, so performing as deejay was a logical next step. His sets, then and now, are an eclectic hybrid of live elements and traditional mixing that feature original edits of artists like New Order, Moby, or even Michael Jackson. Although his appearances as club deejay are somewhat rare these days, he can be spotted from time to time around the underground scene in Pamplona, blowing up dance-floors with the same subversive electro that plays weekly on his Iruña Sound System radio program.
